Source of Inspiration: The Collision of Classic and Passion Revival Cycles Studio's owner, Alan Stobberg, is a devoted fan of the BMW Boxer horizontally opposed engine. With his passion for classic motorcycles and his pursuit of innovative design, he drew inspiration from BMW motorcycles from the 1930s and early 1960s racing cars, determined to create a unique motorcycle. This "birdcage" motorcycle, carrying his tribute to the classics and his vision for the future, embarked on its legendary journey. Titanium Alloy Frame: The Perfect Fusion of Lightness and Durability This Boxer horizontally opposed engine is large in size. To create a body that can bear its weight while maintaining aesthetic appeal, this undoubtedly posed a huge challenge. After 6 months of design planning, Alan turned his attention to titanium alloy. Titanium alloy, with its outstanding characteristics of light weight and high strength, became the ideal material for making the frame. However, the high strength of titanium alloy also brought challenges in cutting and welding, and each process required a lot of time and effort. But Alan and his team did not back down. With their exquisite craftsmanship and tenacious perseverance, they carefully constructed the entire body frame using 138 titanium alloy components with a diameter of 9 millimeters. This precise application and fine processing of titanium alloy materials not only demonstrated the superb skills of the artisans but also showcased the great potential of titanium alloy in high-end manufacturing. Through this exquisite frame, people can clearly appreciate the charm of the engine and the driving device, as if they are showing their powerful power to the world. Details: Ingenious and Craftsmanship-Driven Masterpiece Design The "birdcage" motorcycle not only has a unique design in the frame, but also showcases ingenious craftsmanship in every detail. The front shock absorber system retains the classic Telelever design of BMW, this front fork lever shock absorber device not only provides excellent shock absorption but also adds a touch of retro charm. The shape of the handlebar pays homage to the classic BMW R 37 racing car from 1928, the throttle line and clutch are ingeniously hidden inside the handlebar, making the overall design more concise and smooth. The carbon fiber manual shift lever installed on the right side of the fuel tank not only operates conveniently but also adds a touch of technology to the entire vehicle. Alan specially customized an aluminum shell for the huge Boxer engine. This shell not only makes the engine visually more rounded and beautiful but also cleverly stores the ECU (vehicle computer), charging and ignition systems, etc., making the engine area more tidy and orderly. The seat is made of carbon fiber, connected to the frame through a specially designed adapter bracket, ensuring the stability of the seat while reducing the weight of the vehicle. The small 3.8-liter fuel tank hidden beneath the seat's rear end is equipped with an independent electronic fuel pump, providing a strong guarantee for the motorcycle's continuous operation. The entire exhaust pipe is hand-welded from titanium alloy throughout, each weld seam embodies the hard work and sweat of the artisans, highlighting unparalleled quality. In terms of tires, Alan boldly adopted 23-inch Dunlop slick tires. This tire design enables the vehicle to maintain stability during operation, providing a safer and more comfortable driving experience for the rider. To match the bold and innovative design style of the entire vehicle, only a rear brake controlled by the left foot is set. This minimalist design not only does not affect the braking effect but also creates an unprecedented special effect, making people feel as if they are riding on a huge engine, experiencing the collision of speed and passion.
